Mary Fogg is a Collaborating Teacher on our junior kindergarten team. She is a graduate of DePaul University’s School of Education and has spent the last 30 plus years working with children in a wide range of roles. She has been a babysitter/nanny, early childhood teacher, elementary school teacher, educational therapist, preschool administrator and Chicago Public Schools volunteer. She also is a parent. It was during her time as the director of a private preschool in Bucktown that she realized how much she missed being in the classroom and made the decision to return to teaching.

Mary values strong partnerships with parents and strives to help them be fully engaged in all aspects of their child’s development. She believes that learning is taking place all the time and every moment is a teachable moment. Books and storytelling are among her passions, as evidenced by her rather large collection of children’s literature. In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, going to museums, and traveling; especially to visit family.
