Mr. Enaam Al-Quader's international mindset helps him see "Beauty in Math"

Mr. Al-Quader, Middle and Upper School math teacher at GEMS since 2021, embodies the spirit of the IB in many impressive ways.

Born in Bangladesh, Mr. Al-Quader speaks Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, English, Arabic, and French. He has lived in Iraq, Kuwait during the mid-90’s when the Iraqi and U.S./United Nations invasions occurred, and in Bangladesh. He moved to the United States during college to complete his university studies.

His travels around the world include visits to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, India, Pakistan, the U.K., France, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Iceland, Canada, Mexico, Barbados, and Morocco.

With an academic interest in business and actuarial science, Mr. Al-Quader discovered a love for teaching math after working as an actuarial consultant and helping students in his off hours. According to Mr. Al-Quader, “math is elegant. There is beauty in math, and there is sheer joy for me in seeing students make connections and reflect appreciation for the beauty I see.”

Mr. Al-Quader, as a life-long learner, was also trained as an EMT and is currently pursuing a degree in special education.
